Image of Phoenix Contact MC 1000 Media ConvertersThe Phoenix Contact media converter portfolio is an exciting complement to the already successful FL Switch 1000 and FL Switch 2000 families. With a similar look and feel to the switches, the media converters can be viewed as an extension of the popular FL Switch 1000 family. These products are positioned to close portfolio gaps such as Gigabit communication and replace products within the existing portfolio, specifically the discontinued FL MC 1000 and 2000 series. The MC 1000/1100 series complement the existing FL Switch 1000 series by simplifying Ethernet infrastructure down to one RJ45 and one fiber connection, carrying the same design characteristics throughout so that each product feels similar to another if a customer were to try a new variant.

MC 1000 Product Family
  • MC 1000 series: Ethernet media converters of this class are designed for applications with basic requirements. They offer simple and cost-effective integration of fiber optic technology into industrial Ethernet networks.
  • MC 1000T series: these media converters meet advanced requirements from applications in demanding industrial environments. The devices are equipped with a metal housing and feature an extended temperature range, HazLoc approval, and a redundant power supply. Additional DNV approval enables use in shipbuilding.
  • MC 1000E series: media converters in this category are suitable for applications with requirements for special approvals. These include potentially explosive areas, power supply, and distribution applications. The approval package includes IECEx, ATEX, and UL HazLoc, as well as IEC 61850 and IEEE 1613, making the devices ready for worldwide use.

  • 20% thinner than the previous offering, these housings sport a similar two-piece design to the FL Switch 1000 that maximizes space and usability
  • Utilizing the same innovative mounting bracket as the FL 1000 switches, these media converters support a range of mounting orientations
